In the second match of T20 World Cup 2010, West Indies played against minnows Ireland. West Indies who were playing without Gayle, won the toss and elected to bat first. The pitch was very sluggish and batsmen were having some problem to score freely but every batsmen contributed a small total and West Indies were able to post 138 runs in 20 overs.

Ireland got off to a disastrous start and lost the first wicket on the second ball of the innings. This triggered the fall of wickets and within the first 2 overs, Ireland lost 3 top order batsmen.
