In the 12th match of T20 World Cup 2012, Pakistan beat Bangladesh by eight wickets and thus qualified for the World Twenty20’s Super Eights stage.

Bangladesh won the toss and elected to bat first. They got off to a good start and added 34 runs in just 3.4 overs for the first wicket partnership. But the real star for Bangladesh was Shakib Al Hasan who scored a brilliant 84 off just 54 balls to help his team post a decent total of 175/6 in 20 overs.

Pakistan needed 176 to qualify for super eight’s and their openers provided them the best possible start. The duo added 124 in 13.3 overs and set the stage for a fine Pakistan victory. Pakistan achieved the required target with 8 balls pending and thus registered a 8 wicket win.
