Today in the 20th match of T20 World Cup 2012, India crushed Pakistan by 8 wickets to keep the semi final hopes alive. With this win, India kept his record intact with 100% win against Pakistan in World Cup matches.

Earlier Pakistan won the toss and elected to bat first. Irfan Pathan got the priced wicket of Imran Nazir in the second over of the innings. S Afridi and Hafeez then started a partnership and just when it was about to look dangerous, Balaji got the wicket of Afridi. With this wicket, Pakistan stumbled from 35/2 top 59/5 in the 10th over. Some good hitting by Shoaib Malik and Umar Akmal helped Pakistan cross the total of 100. Ashwin then got both the wickets and finally Pakistan was all out for 128/10 in 19.4 overs.

India needed 129 to win and keep the semi final hopes alive. G Gambhir got out in the very first over which brought India’s most reliable cricket so far in the World Cup so far, V Kohli on to crease. He along with Sehwag then took the team score to 75 before Sehwag was out. But this was the last wicket for Pakistan as Kohli and Yuvraj Singh took the team to a superb 8 wicket win. Kohli was awarded man of the match for his brilliant 61 balls 78 runs.
